LEAD Summer Business Institute (SBI) Student Application Form
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates in their junior year of high school with a “B” average or better and combined test scores of at least 100 on the PSAT; 1000 on the SAT (critical reading and math combined), or 22 on the ACT are eligible to apply. Applicants must demonstrate leadership ability and active involvement in their schools and communities. It is not necessary to have prior experience or knowledge in the field of business. Candidates must be US Citizens or permanent residents to be eligible.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please, download the attached documents located at the bottom of the application. Read the instructions carefully and make sure you answer all required questions fully. LEAD will only review candidates who complete and submit this form, two essays, two recommendations forms, the $35 administrative fee, school information sheet and an official high school transcript. It is your responsibility to ensure that LEAD receives all requested materials by March 1, 2010.

All candidates are required to submit two original essays. Each essay should be up to 500 words in length. Please type your essays in the spaces provided below. DO NOT paste an internet link or document icon. The essays must be typed in a readable text.
Attach a recent article about a controversial business decision that you feel was ethical or unethical and state the reason for your position.
Explain a situation when you demonstrated leadership. What did you learn from the experience?
